Colours May Vary – Leeds

Fuet is a biannual food magazine from Spain which explores food and it’s peripheries. Issue 2 explores the world of gastronomy through several of it’s icons (including the amazing Mr Potato Head and Mr Aubergine Head which adorn the two different¬†covers). These include articles on the relationship between pop art and food icons (with some great illustrations by Jose Mendez), the kitsch and pop iconography of McDonalds, and a gastronomic guide to David Lynch’s surreal TV show, Twin Peaks (damned fine coffee!).

Fuet makes connections with food and culture which take us on strange, and often very funny tangents. Beautifully put together, and pleasantly unhinged, Fuet is one to come back to again and again.
